Location
Our saunas in Granton are situated next to The Pitt, a street food market and events space. There is information on how to get there on their website here. There is an accessible toilet and baby change facilities on their premises, a short distance from our hub, and blue badge parking is available on request.
Outside spaces
Our sauna space is located off the Granton Promenade paved surface, which has step-free access from West Shore Road. The path up to our saunas is woodchipped and the main space in front of the saunas is pebbled. Entrance to our sauna is via a small step outside the sauna and another one over the doorframe into the sauna itself. Our change space is also up a small step with standing cubicles, and there are benches to sit on in the waiting area. Our cold shower is accessed by the pebble surface and stepping stones, and it is level with the ground. Our plunge pools are up four steps and require a good level of mobility to step into.
Inside the sauna
Inside the sauna, we have shared benches on two levels. There is a protective barrier around our wood-fired stove to prevent burns. The floor is designed to be robust and non-slip but we would encourage you to take care when moving around as humidity levels can vary. There is no timer or temperature gauge inside the sauna, so we like people to listen to their bodies and cool down when ready.
Quiet sessions
For those who prefer it, we have quiet sessions called Sunday Slow Down, which can be booked on the website. We always try to cultivate a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere - there is sometimes sound overspill from The Pitt but we will always let you know when there is an event planned that is likely to be particularly noisy. Quiet periods tend to be Thursday and Friday.

Children aged 13+ are allowed in SWS Community Saunas when accompanied at a ratio of 1:2. NEW! Children under 12 and 6+ are now able to sauna with their family in private sessions with a ratio of 2 adults to 1 child, children should never be left in the sauna alone and must be supervised at all times. Children age 16 or under must never be left alone in the sauna.

Soul Gathering
Porty sauna (Mama Bear)
Our beloved OG sauna will be gracing Granton with its presence for this event. It will be on the grass next to the site entrance so it is accessible on flat, although somewhat uneven terrain. There are three steep steps up into the sauna.
Wandering bear Sauna
Our festival sauna, Wandering Bear, will be on a hardstanding surface. There is a ramp up to the door, then a step over the lip of the sauna itself to get inside.
Event space
Here, we will have trestle tables and soft seating available for our cinema and talk area as well as a book nook.
Yoga movement space
This will be a low profile dance surface with a very slight lip.
